Civil War Era Medical Canteen - Oval Medical canteen is made of tin with solder seams. The body size is 9 1\2 long x 6 3\4 wide by 1 1\4 inches thick. Canteen has two period repairs which does little harm, the one side is dented. These canteens worn on the side were made curved to fit against the body. US Model Smoothside Canteen - Canteen was painted orange many many years ago, no question orange paint very old, I suspect it's home was in a GAR Hall.
